For the Brand Mascot Project , the era I chose was the 50s. The characteristics of the person in the logo represents the 50s because in that era diner girls were very popular. In addition, the design of the black and white tile represents the 50s because it was the interior design of diners in that era. I chose to add records on top of the tile because records were very popular as a source of listening to music in the 50s. My logo is based off of a 1950s diner and diner girl. I came up with this idea by looking through images from the 50s. In addition, I chose this idea because usually when someone mentions the 50s people think of diners, the waitresses with roller blades, and records. I chose the colors red, black, and white because those are the classic 50s colors. The colors usually correspond with the 1950s. I used many tools to create my logo. One tool I used was the Magnetic Lasso Tool to crop the diner girl, pancakes, and my face from their original images. I took my face from an image and cropped and changed the levels of it by using the Levels Tool. I cropped the pancakes from an image and placed in on top of a ice cream sundae that was originally in the diner girl's hand. I used the shape tool to create the tiles in the background, and to create the record that the diner girl is inside of. I used the clipping mask tool to put the diner girl inside of the shape. I put a post posterize filter on the diner girl. To create the music notes I added a paint brush layer on top of the original image, then I lowered the opacity and used the magnetic lasso tool to cut out the shape of the music note. Then I duplicated the layer to get two instead of one. Another tool I used was the type on a path tool to get the wording follow the shape of the record. In addition, I put a drop shadow under the music notes to make them stand out more.
To make the page of the gooseberry pie, I started out by getting an image from the movie "Snow White" and lowered the opacity of the image. Also, I cropped the pie out of an image that came with the recipe. After I cropped the pie out of the original image, using the magnetic lasso tool, I added a drop shadow to it. I added a shape with a white fill and lowered the opacity to put my text boxes on top , so the text would be easier to read. To make the page of the snow cones, I got an image from "Monsters Inc." and lowered the opacity of the image. I added a text box for the title and made the font color yellow. Then, I added two more text boxes for the ingredients and instructions. To edit the background image, I used the magnetic lasso tool to crop a snow cone and used the clone stamp get rid of the brown line across it. Also, I made many copies of the cropped snow cone layer and arranged them to make it seem as if the characters were holding snow cones.

Final Reflection
My favorite assignment was the calender because I got to learn all the different Photoshop tools. Also, it was so nice to see the end product because after a couple of months of hard work it looked so nice to see it all together. The most challenging assignment was the can label because you had to make sure the measurements were accurate and coming up with a design that was creative and had all of the requirements. My most successful assignment was the Waffle Syrup logo because it came out great and it looks very realistic. Also, it looks very neat and creative. I see myself using this tools in the future for making different photo edits and making birthday or any kind of event card.
